About Us
The current owners of Santa Veneranda, Giorgos and Mary, are doctors working in Heraklion. They purchased the building and renovated it with deep respect for its traditional architecture.
Alongside their passion for science, they share a deep love for their homeland—its culture and rich heritage.
They lovingly and respectfully restored this farmhouse, drawing on local knowledge and the craftsmanship of traditional artisans in stonework, plaster, metal, and wood—bringing it back to life.

Our Place
Santa Veneranda is located in the heart of the Cretan countryside, in the Kastelli plain—just 35 kilometers from Heraklion. This fertile area is dotted with villages, lush olive groves, vineyards, and other cultivated fields. Our guesthouse sits in the picturesque hamlet of Agia Paraskevi, nestled at the foothills of the Diktean Mountains. The small settlement enjoys a privileged position, overlooking the entire plain. It’s the perfect year-round holiday destination.
